Eurostar has announced the global launch of its official app in ChatGPT, becoming the first rail operator to offer the service in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands, as part of a wider European rollout.
Available from this summer, the new experience enables travellers to search for Eurostar journeys directly within ChatGPT, accessing real-time information on schedules, journey times and available fares before being directed to eurostar.com to complete their booking.
Travellers around the world can now plan journeys using natural language, either by typing or speaking to ChatGPT. To access the service, users connect their ChatGPT account to the Eurostar app within ChatGPT.
Whether searching for a train from London to Paris for a weekend away, comparing departure times between Brussels and Amsterdam, or finding the best route for a European break, the Eurostar app in ChatGPT gives travellers access to essential journey information in seconds.
A new gateway to European rail travel
The launch forms part of Eurostar’s continued commitment to simplifying the customer journey and making its international high-speed rail network even more accessible.
Alongside Eurostar’s existing website and mobile app, ChatGPT now provides another way for travellers to discover and access Eurostar services through a conversational platform already used by millions of people to find information, explore ideas and plan everyday activities.
The move also responds to rapidly changing customer behaviour already being seen by Eurostar:
Between January 2025 and June 2026, traffic to eurostar.com generated by AI platforms increased fivefold.
In June 2026, ChatGPT accounted for 85% of all traffic to eurostar.com generated by AI applications.
Between May and July 2026, AI applications accounted for between 0.8% and 1% of ticket bookings made on eurostar.com.
For travellers, the benefit is simple: faster access to reliable journey information, easier discovery of new destinations and a more intuitive way to plan international rail travel through a conversational interface.
Eurostar plans to continue developing the experience over time,
with a number of potential features already being explored. These include enhanced destination discovery, network visualisation, travel inspiration and easier access to selected fares and offers.
The company will also explore opportunities presented by other conversational assistants as consumer adoption of AI-powered travel planning continues to grow.
François Le Doze, Chief Commercial Officer at Eurostar, said: “Search habits are changing quickly, and travellers are increasingly using conversational tools to research and plan their journeys.
“By launching the Eurostar app in ChatGPT, we are choosing to be present where our customers are already searching for information and planning their travel.
“Our goal remains the same: to make international rail travel simpler, more accessible and more attractive.”
With a fleet of 51 high-speed trains, Eurostar operates the largest international high-speed rail network in Western Europe, serving more than 20 destinations across Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
In 2025, Eurostar carried 20 million passengers. To support its long-term growth, Eurostar has ordered up to 50 new double-deck Celestia trains from Alstom, which will begin entering service from May 2031.
