Vietnam Airlines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with APG Inc to deepen bilateral cooperation and renewed its General Sales Agent (GSA) agreement, reinforcing its commercial presence in Belgium and supporting the development of travel between the two countries.
The MoU was exchanged at the Vietnam–Europe Business Roundtable, held during the official visit to the European Union and the Kingdom of Belgium by the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam, accompanied by a high-level Vietnamese delegation.
Under the MoU, Vietnam Airlines and APG Inc will work together to develop the Belgian market and strengthen the airline’s brand presence. The renewed GSA agreement ensures continuity in APG Inc’s role as the airline’s local representative, supporting sales development, market outreach and customer engagement in Belgium.
In the first eight months of 2026, approximately 45,000 passenger movements were recorded between the two countries, up 41% year on year. Traffic between Hanoi and Brussels reached around 23,000 passenger movements, an increase of 76%, while the Ho Chi Minh City–Brussels market recorded approximately 17,000, up 21%.
Beyond Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc are attracting growing interest from Belgian travellers. Increasingly, visitors are exploring Vietnam through itineraries spanning the country, combining natural landscapes, cultural experiences and coastal escapes. This trend offers opportunities for Vietnam Airlines and APG Inc to broaden their travel offerings and introduce more Belgian travellers to Vietnam’s diverse destinations.
To meet this growing demand, Vietnam Airlines will leverage its extensive European network to offer travellers from Belgium convenient connections to Vietnam via its European gateways. The airline currently operates 12 nonstop routes connecting Vietnam with eight hubs across seven European countries with 46–48 flights per week.
Dang Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airlines, said: “As Vietnam pursues its ambition for sustained, high-quality economic growth, Vietnam Airlines is committed to strengthening international connectivity and supporting the development of tourism, trade and investment. Our continued partnership with APG Inc will help us build a stronger presence in Belgium and the wider European market, welcome more international visitors to Vietnam, and share the country’s distinctive culture, heritage and destinations with the world.”
APG Inc represents Vietnam Airlines as its General Sales Agent in multiple international markets, including Belgium. With a network of more than 130 offices across over 170 countries and partnerships with more than 200 airlines, the company brings extensive international reach and market expertise.
Through this partnership, Vietnam Airlines aims to capture the growing potential of the Vietnam–Belgium market, attract more travellers in both directions and contribute to stronger tourism, trade and business ties between the two countries.
