Birgit C. Muller:
Where Couture
Meets Conscience
Three-time Emmy Award winner, Hollywood costume visionary, couture founder, humanitarian — and now the creative force leading Social Media Superstar Awards into a new era of digital storytelling.

Birgit C. Muller — designer, producer and CEO of Social Media Superstar Awards. Beverly Hills, 2026.
Full Profile
Few careers in the creative industries span continents, disciplines and decades with such seamless authority. Born in Vienna, Austria and raised amid the cultured elegance of Marbella, Spain — attending Christian Dior shows as a child and absorbing a lifelong reverence for refined design — Birgit C. Muller would go on to become one of the most decorated costume designers in American television history.
Her academic formation was as eclectic as her career: journalism, publicity and promotion at the London College of Printing; television direction and production at the BBC Television Training Academy; and fashion design at West London College. Rather than pulling in different directions, these disciplines converged into a singular professional identity — part editor, part storyteller, part couturière.
"Fashion is not vanity — it is the most immediate language through which a person declares who they are to the world."
— Birgit C. MullerMuller launched her career as assistant beauty and teen fashion editor at Miss Vogue Germany, before ascending to stylist roles at Vogue, Vanity Fair and Elle, and working as photo editor for Transpacific Magazine. Her transition to Hollywood came almost by accident: a styling assignment for a Guns N' Roses shoot for Details magazine brought her to Los Angeles for six weeks. Those six weeks became a lifetime.
Hollywood & The Emmy Legacy
In the United States, Muller's talent found its fullest expression in film and television. She collaborated with some of Hollywood's most celebrated directors — William Friedkin, David Lynch, Michael Bay, Francis Ford Coppola and Ridley Scott — on productions for Paramount, Sony, Disney and Universal, building a body of work defined by psychological precision and visual elegance.
In 2001, she joined CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful as in-house costume designer, quickly earning critical recognition. After Emmy nominations in 2001 and 2003, she achieved something rare in television: three consecutive Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Costume Design in 2004, 2005 and 2006 — a record that cements her place among the most influential figures in American daytime television design.
Emmy Awards & Major Honors
Couture, Influence & Film
Beyond television, Muller founded Birgit C. Müller Couture, crafting bespoke gowns distinguished by refined silhouettes, exquisite materials and timeless elegance. Her designs have graced red carpets, galas and international magazine editorials. In 2009, she created original gowns for Vanna White's Las Vegas Week on Wheel of Fortune, and in 2012 her sustainably designed gown appeared on the Academy Awards red carpet worn by actress Missy Pyle.
In parallel, Muller co-produces Pripyat at Vero 8 Pictures — a critically acclaimed screenplay exploring the 1986 Chernobyl disaster, directed and produced by Alicia Hayes. It is a project that reveals the depth of her creative commitment: storytelling as social conscience.
Philanthropy & Humanitarian Leadership
In 2005, Muller's fashion gala raised over $800,000 for the City of Hope National Medical Center, earning her the prestigious Circle of Hope Award. A year later, she founded The Three Doves Foundation to support natural disaster relief, disease prevention and education. Her couture designs have appeared at events supporting Eva Longoria's Heroes Foundation, Make-A-Wish UK and the American Cancer Society.
Leading SMSA Into the Digital Age
