Contiki has unveiled GO WANDER, the biggest transformation in its more than 64-year history and the opening of a bold new chapter for the youth travel pioneer. With announcements spanning an expanded product offering and a new appealing pricing structure, GO WANDER is the first stage in a multi-year transformation focused on a single-minded purpose – getting more young people exploring the world.
So why now? Young travellers are hungry for diversified and unique travel experiences that can be shared. Those in the UK or Ireland aged 18–34 took an average of 5.6 international trips over the past five years[1], with 75% of young people in the UK or Ireland likely to consider an organised group trip for part of their next international trip, and almost six in 10 preferring a small group of 15 people or fewer.[2]
Toni Ambler, Chief Customer Officer, Contiki said: “GO WANDER is a reinvention of Contiki, inspired by the pioneering spirit that’s been part of our story from the start and reimagined for a new generation of young travellers.”
“With 76 new trips, eight new travel worlds built around personal interests, and more ways to travel, we’re giving our travel agent partners more opportunities to match their clients with the right adventure – and young people more freedom to explore on their own terms.” Ambler continued.
“That spirit of discovery comes to life in our new digital experience, making it easier for agents and their clients to explore what’s on offer, find inspiration and turn personal interests into unforgettable travel experiences.”
Kelly Jackson, MD & SVP Sales EMEA, Contiki added: “For our UK travel agent partners, this is about opening up a whole new world of selling opportunities. Young travellers aren’t all looking for the same holiday, and with eight distinct Travel Worlds, 76 new trips and a refreshed pricing approach, agents now have so many more ways to introduce Contiki to their customers.
“What really excites me is the opportunity to change the conversation. Contiki has always been known for bringing young people together through travel, but there’s now so much more to discover, whether that’s immersive local experiences, outdoor adventures, island escapes or something a little more luxurious.
“Our agents are incredibly important to us, and we want to give them the products, confidence and tools to turn that inspiration into bookings. This isn’t simply about launching more trips; it’s about creating more reasons for young people to travel and more opportunities for our partners to grow their business with us.”
Contiki launches eight new Travel Worlds, inviting guests to ‘Wander Your Way’
At the heart of the transformation announcements is a new portfolio architecture that will ultimately span eight distinct Travel Worlds – giving travellers clearer, more inspiring ways to find experiences that match how they want to travel.
The expanded proposition will include 76 new trips by the end of the year, alongside greater variety across destinations, trip formats, group experiences and price points.
Contiki’s expanded offering also includes the introduction of all-new destinations Fiji and the Maldives, giving travellers more opportunities to experience the world on their own terms.
Reflecting the evolving preferences of young travellers, Contiki is expanding its offering with new itineraries across India and Japan.[3] Building on a nearly 29% increase in passenger travel to Asia between 2023 and 2026[4], the new experiences create even more opportunities for cultural discovery, meaningful connections and a greater sense of freedom to explore.
In response to ongoing cost-of-living pressures, Contiki has introduced a refreshed pricing model: lower everyday pricing across its portfolio, removing the need to wait for flash sales or limited-time promotions and making it easier for young people to prioritise travel.
To launch, Contiki premieres On Contiki, directed by award-winning filmmaker Gracie Otto. The vertical micro-drama series, set in Costa Rica, following four young travellers as they experience new adventures and the trials of newfound friendships. Agents are encouraged to suggest the microdrama – which can be found on TikTok and YouTube – to young clients to showcase the Contiki experience.
