“My Mom might be a badass?!” “You need to stop her!” Netflix has revealed an official trailer for an action comedy called Bad Day, heading for streaming directly starting in December. What if they remade Falling Down as a fake SNL trailer? That’s basically the concept behind this. Except that it stars Cameron Diaz as the woman having a no good, very unacceptable, extra bad day. A single mom, named Joy (of course), fights to keep one little promise to her daughter on the absolute worst day of her life. Cameron Diaz stars in this movie, with a massive ensemble comedy cast: Danielle Brooks, Rhenzy Feliz, John Higgins, Mark Duplass, Jessica Belkin, Ed O’Neill, Rob Corddry, Ayden Mayeri, Ben Schwartz, Retta, Emma Pearson, P.J. Byrne, Sherry Cola, Edi Patterson, Beck Bennett. Alas this definitely looks like some direct-to-TV level humor. Not my kind of comedy, but maybe it’s entertaining enough for a holiday viewing.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Jake Szymanski’s movie Bad Day, direct from Netflix’s YouTube:
“My job is to show them that I’ve got this.” Let the chaos begin: Cameron Diaz stars in Bad Day, an action comedy about a single mom fighting to keep one little promise to her daughter on the absolute worst day of her life. Bad Day is an action comedy movie directed by comedy writer / producer / filmmaker Jake Szymanski, known for his TV work including “SNL”, “Funny or Die”, “Jury Duty Presents”, along with the movies Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Tour de Pharmacy, The Package, and tons of other comedy short films previously. The screenplay is written by Laura Solon. Produced by Beau Bauman. Netflix debuts Szymanski’s Bad Day comedy streaming on Netflix globally starting December 11th, 2026. Is this funny?
