Beauty Horror Film ‘The Designer’ Trailer Starring Katherine Waddell

“We want to elevate our natural beauty.” Saban Films has revealed their official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled The Designer, the latest film made by filmmaker Em Johnson. This is set for a VOD release starting in December, despite not showing up at any festivals or otherwise. Perhaps it’s not that good? The film centers on Gerry (Waddell), who joins a massive multi-level marketing company called Kismetta in search of an identity, but soon finds herself descending into utter madness. MLMs are awful, evil, greedy concepts and should be illegal. Katherine Waddell stars as Gerry – her need for an identity pushes her to join the multi-level marketing company, Kismetta, opening her up to a world of chaos that succumbs her to her own delusional reality. The film’s cast includes Gina Gershon, Ethan Slater, Jesse James Keitel, Michelle Hurd, Annie Golden, Gwendoline Yeo, and Jessica Belkin. Another entry in the growing subgenre of beauty horror in the wake of The Substance. This film looks like it gets extra freaky! View below.

As she gets pulled deeper into the organization, she descends into chaos, body horror elements, and her own delusional reality. The Designer is written and directed by indie filmmaker Em Johnson, director of the films Balloon Animal and Blush previously, plus many other short films. Produced by Warner Davis, Todd M. Friedman, Jiarui Guo, Katherine Waddell. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know.
