American Airlines is bringing back seatback screens to its narrowbody fleet after removing them nearly a decade ago to cut costs.
The carrier said Tuesday every seat on new narrowbody Airbus and Boeing aircraft deliveries starting in 2028 will have seatback screens, along with retrofitted aircraft.
More than 140 of American’s long-haul aircraft currently have these screens. For context, Delta and United, American’s chief rivals, have seatback screens on more than 900 and 800 aircraft, respectively.
