A comic about being your own saviour by illustrator, animator, and comic book artist Evan M. Cohen. Cohen is the illustrator for Hudson Valley Brewery located in Beacon, NY and currently resides in the Midwest. “Clearing” is about helping yourself when you need it most:
“Sometimes the best remedy comes from within, from searching your own life for answers and pulling yourself up from the depths. In the middle of the storm, when you feel like no one is there to help you, you will find yourself waiting.”
You can read the whole comic and support Cohen’s work here. More images and accompanying poem from “Clearing” below.
Once more I am offshore,
Hoping for a storm.
In the water I see a light.
Below the surface,
A parallel life.
Should this take
All of me
To be?
Tomorrow,
Like the waves,
Wash away today.
I dive
Without warning,
Come up for air
In the morning.
