As travel and tourism organisations from more than 135 countries gather in London for World Travel Market; Costa Rica and British Airways are bringing a spectacular celebration of the destination to the heart of the capital, transforming London’s Outernet into a fantastical showcase of Costa Rica’s biodiversity, culture and wildlife.
Created in partnership with British Airways, the activation places Costa Rica centre stage during one of the most important weeks in the global travel calendar, positioning the destination in front of thousands of travel trade professionals, media and consumers as the industry descends on London.
Launching today, the activation will welcome visitors for the next two days, bringing the colour, energy and diversity of Costa Rica to life through striking digital content celebrating the experiences that make the destination one of Latin America’s most sought-after places to visit. Visitors will be able to enjoy complimentary Costa Rican coffee, watch performances from Costa Rican dancers and enter competitions to win return flights to Costa Rica courtesy of British Airways.
Mr Borges, Minister of Tourism of Costa Rica said:
“London is a vital gateway for Costa Rica, and World Travel Market gives us a wonderful opportunity to share the country’s spirit with the UK and international travel community. This celebration brings Costa Rica’s extraordinary nature, culture and experiences to the heart of the capital, inviting people to discover what makes our destination so special.
With British Airways’ direct service now operating from Heathrow and year-round flights continuing from 2027, it is easier than ever for UK travellers to experience Costa Rica for themselves. We look forward to welcoming more visitors and strengthening the connections between our countries.”
Designed to capture the spirit of the destination, the takeover will immerse audiences in Costa Rica’s extraordinary wildlife, coastlines, volcanoes, rainforests, adventure experiences and rich cultural heritage, offering a taste of the country in the center of London.
The activation celebrates strengthened connectivity between the UK and Costa Rica through British Airways’ direct London-San José service. Following the move of the route to Heathrow in October 2026, the airline now operates five weekly flights during the winter season, with year-round services continuing from 2027, making Costa Rica more accessible than ever for UK travellers.
The campaign forms part of Costa Rica’s continued efforts to strengthen awareness and visitation from the UK market, reinforcing its position as one of the country’s most important European source markets while showcasing the experiences that continue to drive demand among British travellers.
