Accelya, a global leader in airline technology, today announced an agreement with EGYPTAIR, the national flag carrier of Egypt, to modernize its indirect distribution capabilities through the implementation of FLX Select. The solution will provide EGYPTAIR with a streamlined and standardized approach to accelerating its New Distribution Capability (NDC) deployment, while establishing a solid foundation for its transition towards Modern Airline Retailing.
As the global aviation industry continues to evolve, airlines are increasingly seeking greater control and flexibility over how their products and services are created, distributed, and marketed. For EGYPTAIR, this transformation is particularly significant as the airline advances its ambitious fleet expansion and modernization plans through 2030, bringing additional capacity and enhanced product offerings to an expanding international network.
Through FLX Select, EGYPTAIR will benefit from enhanced connectivity with an established network of travel agencies, distribution partners, and aggregators. This will enable the airline to deliver richer, more comprehensive, and personalized offers across indirect sales channels, providing greater visibility of its products, including ancillary services and bundled offerings.
The implementation of this solution is expected to create new opportunities for incremental revenue generation, strengthen EGYPTAIR’s merchandising capabilities, and provide greater flexibility and control over its distribution strategy, while ensuring a more consistent product offering across its various sales channels.
“The agreement represents another important milestone in EGYPTAIR’s ongoing digital transformation journey, reflecting its commitment to adopting innovative technologies, enhancing the customer experience, diversifying revenue streams, and aligning its commercial capabilities with the evolving requirements of the global aviation industry” Said Mr. Amr Adawy, EGYPTAIR AIRLINES VP Commercial.
Andrew Wilcock, Chief Commercial Officer at Accelya, adds: “Modern Airline Retailing starts with giving airlines more control over how they bring their products to market and creating more opportunities for revenue growth. FLX Select makes that ambition more accessible, helping airlines unlock greater value from indirect distribution while building the foundations for future retailing capabilities. We are proud to welcome EGYPTAIR and support the airline in taking this important step in its modernization journey.”
FLX Select is part of Accelya’s FLX ONE platform, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), which provides integrated capabilities across Offer, Order, Settlement and Delivery. The platform enables airlines to progressively adopt advanced retailing capabilities in line with their individual retailing strategies and digital transformation objectives
