Sales decreased 1 per cent year on year (YoY) to €291.4 million (~$326.85 million, as per conversion rate of $1 = €0.8915 as on October 23, 2026) in the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, while organic sales declined 2 per cent. The group maintained its full-price strategy, reducing its average discount rate by two points from a year earlier.
SMCP has confirmed its 2026 objectives, barring further significant deterioration in France, after resilient third-quarter trading.
Third-quarter sales fell 1 per cent to €291.4 million (~$326.85 million), while organic sales declined 2 per cent.
America and the Europe, Middle East and Africa region excluding France grew, helping offset weak French demand and difficult China trading.
“In the third quarter, the Group delivered a resilient performance despite a challenging consumer environment across certain geographies. We are particularly pleased by the continued growth in America and EMEA, achieved against demanding comparison bases,” said Isabelle Guichot, chief executive officer, SMCP.
America and EMEA support Q3 sales
Sales in EMEA excluding France rose 2.1 per cent to €112.6 million (~$126.30 million), representing organic growth of 2.5 per cent. The region benefited from positive like-for-like sales in markets including Italy, Spain and Benelux, as well as favourable partner-operated activity in the Middle East and Turkiye, SMCP said in a press release.
American sales increased 6.3 per cent to €49.6 million (~$55.63 million), with organic growth of 4.3 per cent. SMCP cited strong US like-for-like sales, sustained store traffic and continued digital momentum, despite the closure of Saks corners. Canada also maintained positive momentum.
France recorded sales of €87.7 million (~$98.37 million), down 9.7 per cent both reported and organically, amid weak demand and the impact of the BHV-SGM corner closures. Asia-Pacific sales grew 3 per cent on a reported basis to €41.6 million (~$46.66 million), although they declined 3.3 per cent organically as momentum in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and Singapore only partly offset difficult trading in China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau).
Sandro holds steady as network remains selective
Sandro sales increased 1.2 per cent to €147.3 million (~$165.22 million), remaining flat organically. Maje sales declined 1.3 per cent to €114.2 million (~$128.09 million), or 2.4 per cent organically, while revenue at Claudie Pierlot and Fursac fell 9.6 per cent to €30 million (~$33.65 million).
SMCP ended the quarter with 1,586 points of sale, down three from the end of the first half. The group pursued targeted retail-network adjustments while expanding through partners in existing markets, including its entry into Armenia.
SMCP confirms 2026 objectives
SMCP maintained its 2026 objectives, provided there is no further significant deterioration in trading conditions in France. The group said it remained focused on strengthening brand desirability and maintaining its disciplined promotional strategy.
