“I don’t want or need any of that!” Netflix has revealed the official trailer for a Japanese romantic comedy film titled My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend, ready for streaming starting in December this year. Based on the hit Korean novel of the same name, turned into this streaming film to watch and discuss. Mei Nagano and Taisei Kido square off in romantic warfare! A romantic comedy film between a self-proclaimed nice guy and his feminist girlfriend with seemingly incompatible principles. “Good girls go to heaven – bad girls go everywhere.” In this amusing new rom-com, a man’s ex becomes an unapologetic feminist, but he still has some feelings for her. After seven years, she returns as a passionate feminist, clashing head-on without compromising on “love” nor any “rights”. Starring Mei Nagano and Taisei Kido, with Junki Tozuka, Maho Nonami, Sotaro Tanaka, Hiroki Konno, Manami Higa, Yumi Aso. This is clearly made for Japanese society, which still has very conservative concepts about women, to be able to watch it & discuss feminism.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Keiichi Kobayashi’s My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend, on YouTube:

Mei Nagano and Taisei Kido square off in romantic warfare! Haruki’s first love was a constant source of joy in his life, always smiling at his side. But one day, a certain incident caused her to abruptly dump him. He’s hurt, but can’t forget about her no matter how hard he tries. Seven years later, Haruki is walking home from work when he encounters a group of female demonstrators. One of them approaches him and, shockingly, it turns out to be his ex — although she’s barely recognizable. The noble & cute girl who always lifted his spirits has become a passionate feminist! Haruki begs her to give him another chance, but she immediately shoots him down. What follows is a clash over differing views of what should be considered normal or common sense in society. Can these two – with conflicting principles – rekindle their old flame?
My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend, also known as 僕の狂ったフェミ彼女 in Japanese, is written and directed by the Japanese filmmaker Keiichi Kobayashi, director of the films About the Pink Sky, Bon Lin, Lights of Kyoto, He Won’t Kill She Won’t Die, Love is Light, “Eternal Yesterday” series, and A Girl & Her Guard Dog previously. It’s adapted from the Korean novel also titled “My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend” by Min Ji-Hyoung (published by Louder Books). Produced by Kei Haruna & Mio Morita. Netflix debuts Kobayashi’s My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend streaming on Netflix worldwide starting December 3rd, 2026 coming up. Look good?
