Zalando’s B2B business opens the company’s logistics, software, and service capabilities to brands and retailers, helping them scale across Europe by reducing the complexity of cross-border e-commerce. The modular operating system includes ZEOS, which gives brands access to Zalando’s logistics network and services so they can sell across channels; Tradebyte, which connects brands and retailers with marketplaces and sales channels worldwide; and SCAYLE, which helps brands and retailers run their own online shops. Partners can choose one service or the full set, reflecting their needs, with support being offered across content creation, insights, fulfilment, returns, multi-channel expansion and more. In 2025, Zalando’s B2B revenues surpassed 1 billion euros (~$1.12 billion) and served over 1,200 merchants.
Zalando has named Tom Christenson B2B senior vice president from October 15, 2026, to advance its European technology platform.
He will lead strategy and unite ZEOS, Tradebyte and SCAYLE across logistics, software and services.
The B2B business topped €1 billion (~$1.12 billion) in 2025 revenue, serving over 1,200 merchants; Christenson previously worked at Amazon, Uber Freight and TBAuctions.
Christenson brings a strong track record in building technology-enabled businesses and marketplaces. After early roles in strategy and operations, he joined Amazon, where he created Seller Fulfilled Prime and helped scale it into a global programme. He later built Uber Freight in Europe, led its strategic combination with sennder Technologies and served as COO of the combined company during a period of significant growth. Most recently, he was CEO of TBAuctions, a European B2B marketplace for industrial assets. Across all these roles, he has brought together technology, product, commercial and operations teams to build strong businesses.
“Tom has spent his career building strong marketplaces and the services that help sellers grow on them, and he is the perfect fit as we accelerate our B2B vision to build the operating system for e-commerce in fashion and lifestyle,” said David Schröder, Co-CEO of Zalando, to whom Christenson reports. “He will lead the overall B2B strategy and work closely with the ZEOS, Tradebyte and SCAYLE teams to offer brands and retailers one integrated approach across logistics, software and services.”
Christenson will work closely with the leadership teams of ZEOS, Tradebyte and SCAYLE, bringing them together in one joint B2B leadership team.
Within Zalando, B2B and B2C reinforce one another. In B2C, Zalando serves 62 million active customers across 29 markets through its Zalando, ABOUT YOU and Lounge by Zalando apps. The better Zalando is for these customers, the more attractive it becomes for brands. And the more brands use its logistics and software, the stronger Zalando’s AI-powered data and infrastructure platform becomes. Built since 2008, it combines fashion data from billions of customer interactions with Europe’s leading logistics fulfilment network. Together, B2C and B2B make Zalando the leading European technology platform for fashion and lifestyle.
“Zalando’s B2B strategy is visionary, is already delivering strong results and has tremendous potential going forward. What we built ourselves, we offer our business partners. Bringing ZEOS, Tradebyte and SCAYLE even closer together will build on the strengths of each to create something even more powerful for the brands and retailers we serve,” said Christenson. “There is a great amount of talent and ambition here, and I am looking forward to listening, learning and working together with the team to build the future of B2B at Zalando.”
