In this campaign, Zalando plays with the universal question “What Do I Wear?” by taking viewers directly into Lily Collins’ headspace during a high-stakes “getting ready” moment. While Lily deliberates in the real world over what clothes will best speak for her, her inner intentions are brought to life by an unscripted, authentic style council inside a visual “control room.”
Monitoring Lily’s wardrobe choices, fashion designer Bella Freud acts as the voice of confidence, calm, poised and reassuring while fashion commentator Nicky Campbell delivers sharp, deadpan commentary. Together, they guide Lily toward a confident fashion decision that matches her true intentions, highlighting how fashion is about the confidence to express your identity.
Zalando launched its AW26 ‘Inner Voices’ campaign with Lily Collins, Bella Freud and Nicky Campbell, its first long-form film campaign.
The film turns outfit choice into a confidence-led style decision, supporting Zalando’s inspiration-first engagement push in 29 European markets.
It runs across Zalando channels from August 31 and includes a Levi’s co-branded spin-off via ZMS and Highsnobiety.
Directed by two-time Grammy Award winner Melina Matsoukas, who brings her signature celebrity edge and premium cinematic storytelling to Zalando, the film embraces a longer form narrative – marking the first time Zalando has utilized long-form video for a campaign – blending the high energy chaos of a style dilemma into a polished, high-fashion film that plays out like a situational comedy, reflecting Zalando’s broader strategy to move beyond advertising into inspiration-first content.
Sara Spännar, VP Global Marketing at Zalando, says: “It is fantastic to continue our work with Lily this season, and to expand her world with the brilliant duo of Bella Freud and Nicky Campbell. Their chemistry and energy on set was really fun, and it has been a joy to bring that dynamic to life. This campaign also marks an exciting milestone for us as we embrace long-form film, allowing us to dive deeper into an entertaining and confident cinematic narrative bringing more relevance to our customers.”
Lily Collins says: “We all ask ourselves ‘What do I wear?’ every single day, and I love that this campaign dives into the beautiful chaos of that decision-making process. It was an absolute pleasure being on set with Bella and Nicky, her poise and his brilliant wit acting as my inner style council perfectly captures how we all debate our fashion choices before stepping out.”
In addition to the hero films directed by Melina Matsoukas, the Autumn/Winter 2026 campaign features a series of striking, candid stills. The imagery catches the talent in their final getting ready steps before stepping out into the world, confident in their choices. The campaign goes live across all Zalando channels on August 31, and will be rolled out across all Zalando markets.
The cinematic world of the Autumn/Winter 2026 Zalando campaign is further expanded through a dynamic, co-branded collaboration with Levi’s. Powered by Zalando Partner Marketing Services (ZMS) and Highsnobiety, this dedicated Spin-off seamlessly builds on the AW26 storyline. Mirroring the main film’s narrative, Levi’s flips the script on the high-stakes style dilemma; evolving the frantic “What do I wear?!” into the empowering question: “Who do I want to be today?”
