Harrods has been investing heavily in its womenswear offer in recent periods and the transformation of the first floor has continued with the launch of the first of its International Designer Rooms.
On completion, there will actually be three interconnected rooms that the retailer said “will form a new global fashion destination”.
But this debut room sets the scene for what’s to come with Harrods saying it marks “an ambitious and refined new chapter for the floor”.
It’s an elevated environment that’s anchored by flagship boutiques from The Row and Chloé, alongside the debut of Tom Ford womenswear at Harrods, with Bottega Veneta and Alaïa set to unveil their new flagship spaces within the next few weeks.

Coming at the same time as Louis Vuitton has opened its giant store-within-a-store as part of Harrods’ Superbrands dedicated space, it underscores the appeal of the Knightsbridge destination for the world’s leading designer names.
The retailer has long hosted such big names on its fashion floors but what it calls its Womenswear Masterplan has seen these being transformed into a singular, more cohesive concept.
Other labels there include include Gabriela Hearst, Khaite, Victoria Beckham, Rick Owens, Jil Sander, Acne Studios, Lemaire, Stella McCartney, Jacquemus, Zimmermann, Camilla and Marc, and new-to-the-store Eddie Borgo and Brandon Maxwell.
Many of these brands are selling exclusive-to-Harrods product too.

As well as the aforementioned anchors and flagships, in the launch phase of the first room, Zimmermann and Camilla and Marc are taking over the two pop-up spaces.
As for the design of the room, it was conceived by David Collins Studio and introduces a sequence of three spaces that will run through the heart of the floor. Anchored by key sight-lines from the central escalators through to Dior, the design “creates a seamless and intuitive journey, encouraging exploration while maintaining a sense of clarity and calm”.
We’re told each room will “present a distinct perspective, balancing varied brand identities with a shared design language rooted in the materials and architectural signatures established throughout the wider redevelopment”.
