Falibra Group and SCF SA, through their Economic Interest Group (GIE), have signed an agreement with Hilton to introduce the DoubleTree by Hilton brand to the Guinean capital with DoubleTree by Hilton Conakry Kaloum. Expected to open in 2029, the hotel marks Hilton’s debut in Guinea, contributing to the growth of the country’s international hospitality offering in one of West Africa’s fastest-growing business destinations.
Located on the Atlantic waterfront in Kaloum, Conakry’s administrative and business district, DoubleTree by Hilton Conakry Kaloum will be developed on the site of the Grand Hôtel de l’Indépendance. Close to government ministries, the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea, the Autonomous Port of Conakry and major corporate headquarters, the hotel will be well positioned to welcome official delegations, business travellers, and event attendees. The nearby Îles de Loos also offers opportunities for leisure excursions by boat.
Falilou Diallo, Managing Director of Falibra Group, said: “The signing with Hilton is a major milestone for Guinea. DoubleTree by Hilton Conakry Kaloum will offer business travelers, as well as visitors coming to discover Guinea, an internationally renowned hotel in the heart of Kaloum, backed by Hilton’s world-class standards and expertise. This project reflects our commitment to building quality infrastructure in Guinea and to creating jobs and training opportunities for Guinean hospitality talent.”
DoubleTree by Hilton Conakry Kaloum will feature 196 guest rooms and suites, delivering the brand’s renowned warm hospitality and friendly service. Guests will be able to enjoy a variety of dining and leisure facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, signature restaurant, lobby café and bar, pool bar and grill, an outdoor swimming pool, children’s pool, fitness centre, spa and wellness area, and tennis court.
The hotel will also offer flexible spaces for corporate meetings, social occasions, and larger events with a multifunction room, meeting rooms, an outdoor function lawn, and a business centre.
Carlos Khneisser, chief development officer, Middle East & Africa, Hilton, said: “Entering Guinea marks an important milestone in Hilton’s continued expansion across Africa, as we bring our hospitality to new markets. Conakry is an important commercial and administrative centre, and we see strong potential for DoubleTree by Hilton in this prime location at the heart of the city. We are pleased to partner with Falibra Group and SCF SA on this exciting project and look forward to introducing DoubleTree by Hilton’s warm and welcoming hospitality to guests in Guinea.”
The project is being developed by Falibra Group and SCF SA through a public-private partnership and forms part of the renewal of Conakry’s hotel offering.
