When Stella McCartney presented a runway show featuring her winter 2026 collection during Paris Fashion Week, the veteran designer said it was in honor of the Year of the Horse. Fittingly, the presentation featured models walking a path that circled around 10 horses inside a riding hall in the Bois de Boulogne.
She kept the equine love going for a new short film that debuted today starring Kylie Jenner on the beach in front of the Pacific Ocean. Described as “an ode to the power, sensitivity and freedom of the horse,” the short has some Hollywood pedigree in that it was directed by filmmaker Gia Coppola, who last helmed The Last Showgirl starring Pamela Anderson and Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis.
McCartney loves horses, and all animals actually, as the designer has rejected fur, leather, feathers and skins since she founded the namesake brand in 2001. She’s placed a spotlight on horses in the past, including on the most recent runway presentation and before that, a winter 2023 campaign.
For the new outing, Jenner was filmed fully immersed in water alongside a trained horse as a way to center the relationship between humans, animals and nature. She also models a variety of Stella McCartney looks, sans horse, in yet another major brand moment for the influencer, reality TV star and beauty mogul. Jenner is fresh from closing the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Sunday in a $50 million fantasy bra, and she’s also recently starred in ads for Alo.
Per official intel from McCartney’s fashion house, American Humane Society was on set to monitor all the animal action, and no horses were harmed in the process. (A donation will also be made to support equine welfare charities globally, the brand stated.)
As for the pieces, the campaign displays a faux fur coat, tops in chantilly lace and chainmail, thigh-high riding boots, and more. Also taking a share of the spotlight is McCartney’s new Appaloosa bag, which was inspired by the strength and spirit of Linda McCartney’s stallion named Lucky Spot.
