Luxury resale demand continues to gain momentum, according to eBay’s latest Watchlist trend report for Spring/Summer 2026, released Thursday.
The report offers a data-driven snapshot of shifting consumer behaviour across fashion and luxury resale, based on insights from 136 million active buyers and approximately 2.5 billion listings.
The Watchlist points to sustained strength in pre-loved luxury, with heritage fashion houses including Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry and Chanel maintaining strong global demand and ranking among the most purchased luxury brands in Q1 2026.
At the same time, several niche and archival labels are recording sharp growth in resale value. Rodarte saw a 721% increase in average sales price growth, while Raf Simons was up 384%. Data comparisons reflect March 2026 versus March 2025 global activity on eBay.
Among standout product movements, the Gucci Padlock Bag surged 530% in resale value, while the Patek Philippe Nautilus increased 154%, underscoring continued demand for luxury timepieces.
Based on insights from 136 million active buyers and approximately 2.5 billion listings, the report also highlights how runway trends and cultural moments are translating directly into shopping activity on the platform.
The report identifies five key aesthetic shifts shaping consumer behaviour this season. Under the theme “Weightless Drama,” transparency and movement are driving interest in fluid silhouettes and romantic detailing. Searches for Alaïa ballet flats rose 58% year over year, alongside a 31% increase in feather embellishment.
A second trend, described as “Slightly Unsettled,” reflects a move away from polished perfection toward relaxed, deconstructed styling. Within this category, demand for Levi’s bootcut jeans is up 67%, while interest in the Balenciaga Le City Bag has climbed 52%.
The “Color Interruption” trend signals a return to bold, expressive palettes after multiple seasons dominated by neutrals. Search activity for Missoni beanies increased 56%, while Chrome Hearts saw a 35% rise in interest.
“Drenched in Disruption,” highlights the return of maximalist dressing as shoppers gravitate toward pieces with texture, personality and visual impact. Decorative finishes and statement accessories are gaining traction, with shearling trim up 132%, while searches for the Marc Jacobs Blake bag rose 44%.
Finally, “Quiet Confidence” continues the evolution of understated luxury, with consumers gravitating toward softer tailoring and investment wardrobe staples. Searches for slouchy blazers surged 1,495%, while interest in The Row loafers rose 89%.
“Resale is no longer orbiting the fashion cycle, but embedded within it, moving at the same speed, and at times, even setting the pace,” said Brie Welch, Ebay’s resident stylist. “As trends continue to remix the past, eBay’s pre-loved selection remains a primary source for fashion lovers around the world.”
