Hong Kong-based conglomerate CK Hutchison announced on Monday that it has entered into talks with David Konckier, the principal shareholder of the Bogart fragrance and cosmetics group, regarding the sale of Marionnaud, the selective perfumery chain.
CK Hutchison “confirms” that it has initiated “the information and consultation procedures required in connection with a proposed change of ownership of Marionnaud,” the Hong Kong-based group said in its press release.
For its part, the Bogart Group said that its principal shareholder has, “in a personal capacity,” initiated “an exclusive information and consultation process with a view to a potential acquisition of the Marionnaud Group.”
According to legal documents available online and reviewed by AFP, Marionnaud generated revenue of approximately €536 million in France in 2024, across 377 stores.
Including stores in the rest of Europe, the Bogart Group counts a total of 700 Marionnaud stores.
During the forthcoming discussion period, “Marionnaud will continue to operate as normal, with no changes to its day-to-day operations,” CK Hutchison said in its press release.
