“T.O. – the unmistakable initials of a unique talent.” Prime Video has debuted the official trailer for another new sports biopic documentary titled Terrell & T.O., ready to watch starting in November during football season. The fascinating doc chronicles the dramatic career of a controversial NFL star receiver, exploring his impact and legacy while following his current journey of personal growth and transformation. Made by NFL Films and Skydance Sports. “A man that needs no introduction.” This feature-length documentary traces the meteoric rise of Terrell Owens – one of the most talented, accomplished, and quite polarizing athletes of America’s most popular sport and examines his role as the wide receiver who came to embody the tension between individual expression & team conformity, while catching up with Owens in present-day to see how he is evolving and discovering a new personal path forward. Interviews include Owens; family members and close friends; former 49er stars Steve Young, Jerry Rice, and Jeff Garcia; former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo; journalists Jemele Hill and Skip Bayless; Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones; Eagles player Isaiah “Ike” Reese, Freddie Mitchell and Andy Reid, Owens’ coach in Philadelphia. Looks like a wild one! 🏈 Enjoy.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Alex Stapleton’s doc Terrell & T.O., direct from PV’s YouTube:
Terrell Owens is one of the greatest wide receivers in the history of the NFL. A nondescript third round selection in the 1996 NFL Draft out of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Owens flourished under the wisdom of Hall of Fame teammates Steve Young and Jerry Rice. His electrifying blend of physical dominance and theatrical flair fundamentally altered the wide receiver position and football culture itself, transforming the game’s relationship with personal expression and paving the way for next generations to come. However, locker room conflicts, contentious media relationships, and show-stopping celebrations made Owens one of the most controversial figures the game has ever known, and yet his identity is still being defined. 🏈 Terrell & T.O. is a documentary film directed by American doc filmmaker Alex Stapleton (aka Alexandria Stapleton), also of the docs Corman’s World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel, Reggie, “Sean Combs: The Reckoning”, The Brittney Griner Story previously, plus the series “TakePart Live” and other doc projects. Made by Skydance Sports and NFL Films, in association with House of Nonfiction. Excutive produced by Ross Ketover, Keith Cossrow, Ken Rodgers, Jessica Boddy, Jesse Sisgold, Jason T. Reed, Jon Weinbach, Dan Marks, Mike Hill, Stacy Scripter, Alexandria Stapleton. Prime Video debuts Stapleton’s doc Terrell & T.O. streaming on Prime Video starting November 6th, 2026 coming up.
