Gucci has announced the appointment of Tancredi Vitale to lead Gucci Racing, the maison’s new platform- unveiled last May alongside its partnership with the Alpine Formula One Team- positioned as “a crossroads between luxury, sport and culture.”
In his role as VP of Gucci Racing, which he will assume on September 1, Vitale will work closely with Giovanni Perosino, who will continue to lead the new business area as SVP, Gucci Racing, while retaining his responsibilities as SVP, marketing.
Vitale joins Gucci after serving as managing director at Venezia Football Club. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles at some of the world’s most prestigious sports brands, including Kappa, Adidas Y-3 with Yohji Yamamoto, Nike, and Jordan. During more than 13 years at Nike’s Portland headquarters, he held a range of roles with increasing responsibility across the organisation.
“Vitale’s international experience, strategic vision, and deep knowledge of the sports industry will be instrumental in developing this new business area and in fully realising the potential of Gucci Racing as a global platform,” the maison, part of the Kering Group, said in a press release.
