The GoPro Mission 1 Pro has only been available for a few months, but you can already secure the company’s flagship compact cinema camera for its lowest price yet.
GoPro has dropped the price to just $599.99, down from its regular $699.99 asking price, saving you a very welcome $100 in the camera’s first proper discount.
The GoPro Mission 1 Pro is far more than another rugged action camera. It marks a new premium direction for GoPro, combining the small, adventure-ready design the company is famous for with the sort of imaging performance and video tools you would normally expect from a much larger filmmaking setup.
At the center of the Mission 1 Pro is a substantial 50MP 1-inch sensor, powered by GoPro’s latest GP3 processor. Together, they allow the camera to record 8K video at up to 60fps, capture 8K Open Gate footage at 30fps, and shoot 4K slow motion at up to 240fps. That gives creators plenty of flexibility when it comes to cropping, reframing, stabilizing, or slowing footage down during editing.
That larger sensor also gives the Mission 1 Pro a significant advantage when shooting in more challenging conditions, with improved low-light performance and greater dynamic range compared with more traditional action cameras. It also supports 10-bit color, GP-Log2, HLG HDR recording, and manual control over settings including ISO, shutter speed, and white balance, making it much more appealing to serious filmmakers and professional content creators.
GoPro has not forgotten what made its cameras popular in the first place, either. The Mission 1 Pro remains built for adventure, with waterproofing down to 66ft / 20m without the need for an additional housing. HyperSmooth stabilization with 360-degree Horizon Lock helps keep footage steady, while the new Enduro 2 battery is designed to deliver longer recording times and better thermal performance during demanding shoots.
At its original $699.99 price, the Mission 1 Pro was undeniably a serious investment, especially when compared with more conventional action cameras. However, at $599.99, the proposition becomes much more attractive. For filmmakers, creators, and adventurers looking for 8K video, professional recording tools, and GoPro durability in an incredibly compact package, this $100 saving makes the Mission 1 Pro much easier to recommend. And considering this is the first major discount we have seen since launch, it may be worth acting sooner rather than later.
