Brand USA CEO Fred Dixon is in advanced talks to leave the nation’s official destination marketing organization and rejoin the NYC Tourism + Conventions, according to two sources familiar with the process.
NYC Tourism’s finance committee met Tuesday and approved a compensation package, and the board ratified the offer, said one of the sources familiar with the negotiations. Dixon’s appointment is still not final.
The board is not conducting a formal executive search to replace Julie Coker, who led NYC Tourism and announced in June she would be leaving to take over as CEO of Visit California. She remains with NYC Tourism through August 31.
“It’s a done deal,” said the source familiar with the negotiations.
