Travel companies still build much of their business around weather, school holidays, and historical demand patterns. Live entertainment works on a different calendar.
From tour schedules to major sports tournaments, “so much of the live tourism demand is already baked in for months and years to come,” said Skift founder and CEO Rafat Ali. Companies producing concerts, sports, festivals, and other live events often see demand before the travel companies that ultimately provide the flights, rooms, transportation, and experiences around them.
