Sirui has announced a new series of compact full-frame autofocus lenses: Swift. The series kicks off with two primes: the Sirui Swift 20mm f/2.4 and the Swift 40mm f/2.2.
Available for full-frame Sony E-mount and L-Mount cameras, plus APS-C Fujifilm X Series bodies, Sirui describes its two new lenses as delivering “complementary” focal lengths. The lenses are designed for photographers and content creators who don’t want to carry big, heavy lenses. They also target budget-conscious photographers; each is priced at $149.

“For many photographers, choosing an everyday lens means balancing image quality, portability, and budget. Larger lenses can add considerable weight to a camera bag, while more affordable options may require compromises in aperture or optical design,” Sirui says. “The Swift series is designed with these practical needs in mind, offering two compact autofocus lenses that balance everyday versatility with an accessible price point.”

Both lenses weigh around 210 grams (7.4 ounces), depending on the lens and mount, though the range is 207 to 215 grams (7.3 to 7.6 ounces). For all intents and purposes, the lenses weigh the same. They are also the same size, measuring around 60 to 62.3 millimeters (2.36 to 2.45 inches) long, depending on the mount. The Sirui Swift primes accept 58mm front filters.
Each lens incorporates an all-glass optical design. The 20mm f/2.4 has 11 elements in nine groups, while the 40mm f/2.2 has the same total elements in eight groups. Each lens has two ED elements, plus two aspherical lenses in the 20mm prime and one in the 40mm lens. The 20mm f/2.4 also includes two HRI lens elements, while the 40mm f/2.2 has none. Both lenses have nine-bladed aperture diaphragms.
Unlike some other recent compact, affordable prime lenses, the Sirui Swift lenses still offer manual focus alongside AF, which is nice. The focus ring rotates 360 degrees. The maximum magnification is also effectively identical: 1:7.3 for each. These are a far cry from macro lenses. The lenses also include an aperture control ring with an automatic “A” position.
